Dodgers vs Rays Live Stream Reddit: Major League Baseball didn’t take its usual route to this point because of the coronavirus pandemic, but the 2020 World Series is finally here. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays backed up their status as No. 1 seeds and advanced to the 2020. The unprecedented 2020 Major League Baseball season is nearing its conclusion. On Tuesday, the 116th edition of the World Series will kick off at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas — the first neutral site in Fall Classic history.

The juggernaut Dodgers, with a payroll that dwarfs most big-budget action movies, take on the little engine that could Rays, an art-house movie script written on a Starbucks cup.
The 2020 Championship Series were one for the books: the Rays took a quick 3-0 lead over the Astros, eventually winning the series in seven games after a few mini-heart attacks and near misses. The Dodgers battled back from a 3-1 series deficit versus the Braves, nearly being served another early exit in a year with championship hopes.
The 2020 World Series has potential to deliver fireworks from the start with a star pitching matchup ahead in Game 1.
Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw were not used after Game 4 in their respective League Championship Series. That sets up Tampa Bay’s top power pitcher to go head-to-head with the most experienced hurler on either roster.
Glasnow has 33 strikeouts and conceded 16 earned runs over 26.1 innings in his six career postseason starts. Kershaw has appeared in 29 more playoff games than Glasnow, and he has pitched in the World Series on five occasions.
The southpaw opened the World Series in 2017 and 2018 with mixed results. In 2017, Kershaw allowed one earned run over seven innings in a 3-1 win over Houston. Two years ago, he conceded five earned runs in an 8-4 defeat to the Boston Red Sox.
The Rays and Dodgers ranked second and fifth in defensive runs saved during the regular season. Both clubs have also made a huge impression with the leather in the playoffs.
The Dodgers led the majors in scoring and home runs in the regular season. And while they didn’t walk as often as the Rays, there was a far greater gap in the two clubs’ strikeout rates. The Rays ranked second with a 26.9 strikeout percentage, while the Dodgers were 28th at just 20.3 percent.
So it has gone for the Rays in the playoffs, wherein they’ve whiffed in 29.9 percent of their plate appearances. The Dodgers are at 22.7 percent. And though Tampa Bay has out-homered Los Angeles 25-18 on the whole, the Dodgers made up for that advantage in the LCS round. They homered 16 times, compared to 11 for the Rays.
It would sure help the Rays if Randy Arozarena (1.288 OPS, 7 HR) continues his postseason hot streak. But even then, the Dodgers would still have the offensive edge.
“Both teams are really committed to winning and trying to find any kind of edge they could,” added Loney, who played for the Dodgers from 2006-11 and the Rays from 2013-15. “The Rays are really known for their analytics and getting in there, trying to find different ways to beat hard teams: Is it a bullpen guy that we need to use in maybe an unorthodox situation? And the Dodgers, I felt we kind of started doing that towards the end of my career.”
Despite the shortened schedule and expanded playoffs, the teams with the best record in each league meet in the World Series for just the fourth time since Major League Baseball realigned each league into three divisions in 1995.
Reigning NL MVP Cody Bellinger, newcomer Mookie Betts and manager Dave Roberts’ Dodgers went 43-17, the best record in the National League by eight wins. They overcame a 3-1 deficit in the NL Championship Series, beat Atlanta 4-3 on Bellinger’s late home run in Game 7 Sunday night and reached the World Series for the third time in four years.
Rookie sensation Randy Arozarena and skipper Kevin Cash’s bullpen-rich Rays were 40-20 and topped the American League by four victories. They also won a Game 7, topping Houston 4-2 in the ALCS and earning the second World Series trip in franchise history.
